The 2026 Lunar New Year marked our sixth year installing our much-loved red cherry blossom wishing trees at Westfield Riccarton Mall.
Customers love returning each year to hang their wishes, and this year we expanded the installation to include more trees with a new custom-built prosperity bridge to provide easier access to the higher branches and also provide a fun photo opportunity.
A striking pagoda-style frame added cultural richness, complete with spinning zodiac signage that invited discovery and interaction.
To honour the Year of the Horse, a bold moveable platform display became a standout feature, blending storytelling with another dynamic photo opportunity.
The result was a vibrant, interactive experience that drew people in, encouraged participation, and filled the centre with colour, tradition, and celebration.
