ChristchurchNZ celebrated their tourism export conference dinner at The Tannery. The dress code for the evening was “Explorers” and our brief was to showcase Canterbury, incorporating the explorers theme. The Tannery was transformed into 3 different zones of NZ famous explorers. As guests arrived from the cinema end of The Tannery, they were welcomed down a blue carpet into an Antarctic-themed space.

Gorgeous Husky dogs greeted guests, with seal and penguin statues and fake ice sculptures adding to the themed space. A Kate Sheppard space consisted of white silk draping with purple velour drops, a lamppost, a vintage bike, and a scroll to represent the petition. Bar leaners were scattered down The Tannery, internally lit bars and food stations glowed along the space. Colorful floral was placed on the bar leaners.

An interactive photo area thanks to Hotshots photobooth allowed guests to take snaps of their Explorer’s costumes, against a fairy-light curtain. A rustic lounge area was created within Blue Smoke for a relaxing area within the band space. Thanks to ETS for lighting each area to add to the themed spaces.

Special thanks to Jen for allowing us to bring her concept to life and thanks to Tiff at The Tannery.
